The latest DT Max program update is now available for downloading. It features the fully functional T1/TP-1 program for tax years 2000 to 2010 and fully supports T1/TP-1 Efile. Installing this version will update your version of DT Max to 14.21.

Please note that all program versions are always made available on the Internet.

In this version...

1. Known issues fixed in version 14.21

T5004 data reproduced in the spouse's file
ON479 - Property Tax Component vs. non-resident spouse
ON479 - Property Tax Component vs. involuntary separation

2. New diagnostic

We have added the following warning relating to Form T1229, Statement of resource expenses and depletion allowance:

T1229 - Statement of resource expenses and depletion allowance

The program has detected a carryforward amount under the ITC-PriorYr keyword. Verify if this amount actually applies to the Canadian resource expenditure pools. If this is not the case, because the amount actually relates to the apprenticeship job creation tax credit or the investment tax credit for child care spaces, then delete the keyword and use the amount to either reduce the capital cost of the property affected by this credit, or include the amount as other income as applicable.

This warning was added to ensure that, further to your review, you will properly treat any amount appearing under the keyword ITC-PriorYr as a carryforward.

3. Schedule 13 - Employment Insurance Premiums on Self-Employment and Other Eligible Earnings

In versions prior to version 14.21, the calculation of federal instalments did not take into account the EI premiums payable on self-employment and other eligible earnings (line 430). We recommend recalculating (Alt+F9) the affected files with version 14.21 in order to assess the impact on the estimated federal instalment payments.

4. Important note for Quebec (TP-1) bankruptcy tax preparers

Starting with version 14.20, the program no longer produces the Quebec barcode using a tax plan. Please contact our Support group if you filed 2010 bankruptcy returns with version 14.10 or 14.14 using a tax plan with a Quebec barcode attached.
